This notice explains how Woooosh Skates uses personal information when you browse our shop, place an order, create an account or get in touch.

Who we are

Woooosh Skates Ltd, trading as Woooosh Skates Worldwide, is the controller for the personal information described in this notice. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 12839327. Our registered office is 6 Quinn Crescent, Wingate, Durham, England, TS28 5BG.

For privacy questions, rights requests or complaints, email privacy@wooooshskates.com or use our contact form and tell us that your message is about privacy.

What we collect and why

  • Orders, payment and delivery. We use your name, contact details, billing and shipping addresses, items ordered, payment status and transaction references to process your order, deliver it and handle returns or refunds. We use this information to take steps you request before a purchase and to fulfil our contract with you. Checkout needs enough information to take payment and fulfil your order. If you leave required details out, we may be unable to complete it.
  • Accounts. If you choose to register, we use your email, login credentials, account details and order history to provide your account and let you manage your orders and addresses. We use these details to provide the account service you request. You can also check out as a guest.
  • Enquiries and support. We use your contact details, your message and any order reference you provide to answer questions, investigate problems and keep a record of our response. We use this information to carry out our contract where the enquiry concerns an order, or for our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and resolving disputes. The contact form requires a name, email, topic and message. The order number is optional.
  • Tax, accounting and legal requirements. We keep the information needed to comply with tax, accounting and other legal obligations. We may also use relevant records to establish or defend a legal claim, which is a legitimate interest.
  • Security and fraud prevention. We use information such as IP addresses, device or browser details, login activity and transaction signals to protect accounts, detect abuse and keep the shop working securely. Our legitimate interests are protecting customers, preventing fraud and securing the shop.
  • Marketing and site measurement. We may use your email address and subscription choices to send offers and shop news. We rely on consent where you opt in, or on our legitimate interest in marketing similar products to existing customers where the electronic marketing rules allow it. You can unsubscribe at any time. Site measurement and advertising tools can use device and visit information, including pages viewed and shopping events. Where consent is required for these tools, consent is the basis for the associated processing.

Most information comes from you or from your use of the site. We also receive payment confirmations, fraud or payment status, and delivery or tracking updates from payment providers and couriers.

Who we share information with

  • Payment providers such as PayPal and Klarna, depending on the option you choose. They process payment details and send us the status and transaction reference. They may use information as controllers for their own checks, including credit or fraud checks, under their own privacy notices.
  • Couriers, delivery partners and customs authorities where needed for shipping, tracking, returns or international delivery. This can include UPS and relevant local carriers.
  • Technology and communications providers that run our shop, host and secure it, send or receive email, or help us support customers. These include our web and mail hosting providers, Microsoft Outlook for business correspondence, and Cloudflare Turnstile for form verification. If you choose to contact us through WhatsApp, WhatsApp handles the messaging service under its own privacy notice.
  • Marketing and measurement providers used for the relevant service, including Mailchimp for newsletters, Jetpack for site statistics, and Meta for advertising and measurement.
  • Professional advisers and public authorities where needed for accounting, legal advice, a claim or a legal obligation.

International transfers

International deliveries can require us to send shipping details to carriers or customs authorities outside the UK. Some technology providers can also process information outside the UK, including in the United States. The applicable transfer basis depends on the recipient and service. It may be UK adequacy regulations, an appropriate safeguard such as UK-approved contract terms, or a legal exception that applies to the transfer. Contact us for details about a particular transfer or a copy of the safeguards where applicable.

How long we keep information

We keep order and invoice records for as long as required for tax and accounting. UK VAT records generally have to be kept for at least six years. We keep account details while needed to provide and manage your account. For support correspondence, unsuccessful orders, security logs and similar records, the period depends on the purpose, including resolving an enquiry, detecting abuse, handling returns or disputes, and any legal obligations. When you unsubscribe, we may keep a record of your choice so we can honour it.

Use Cookie settings to accept, reject or change optional cookies at any time. Optional analytics and advertising are off until you choose them. We remember your choice for 180 days in a first-party cookie. If you allow an optional category, a separate first-party cookie helps the site serve the correct version of the page.

  • Essential. WooCommerce uses woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart and wp_woocommerce_session_* to keep your basket and checkout working. Basket cookies are normally session-based. The WooCommerce session cookie normally lasts up to two days. WordPress login cookies keep you signed in and may last longer when you select Remember me. Cloudflare Turnstile and, where used, Google reCAPTCHA help prevent form and login abuse. Payment providers such as PayPal and Klarna may use device and session information to provide and secure payment features.
  • Analytics. With permission, Jetpack and WooCommerce Analytics measure visits and shopping activity. WooCommerce order attribution uses sbjs_* cookies to help understand where an order came from. These generally expire with the session, and sbjs_session normally lasts 30 minutes. Jetpack cookie details · WooCommerce order attribution details.
  • Advertising and marketing. With permission, Meta Pixel, Mailchimp shopping activity tracking and connected advertising integrations can measure visits and purchases and help us assess or personalise advertising. Meta can use cookies such as _fbp and _fbc. These choices are separate from whether you subscribe to marketing emails.

You can also clear cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies can affect the basket, checkout or sign-in. For questions about cookies, use our contact form.

Your privacy rights

Depending on how we use your information, you can ask to access it, correct inaccurate details, erase it, restrict its use, or receive information you provided in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. That does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.

Right to object. You can object to direct marketing at any time. Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact us. You can also object to processing based on our legitimate interests for reasons relating to your circumstances.
